Remotely-Sensed Derived Built-up Area as an Alternative Indicator in the Study of Thailand’s Regional Development

Nowadays measuring national and regional development primarily relies on demographic socio-economic indicators. An indicator in physical dimension e.g., areas of human settlements their economic uses lands is usually ignored due to unavailability data countries like Thailand. Remotely-sensed derived built-up area was used, for the first time, as a studying Thailand’s development. Remote sensing - using decision tree classifier with combination indices band ratios, NDVI, MNDWI, NDBI GIS techniques were utilized estimate proportion area. The relationships between percentage three indicators urbanization rate, Gross Regional Product, Human Achievement Index analyzed. Resultantly, 2019 Thailand 2.46% average accuracy 84.5%. variation levels existed regions strong. However, there no relationship after excluding region having effect Bangkok.
